Hacktivity 2026 opens today in Budapest with AI and OT security

Hacktivity returns to Budapest on 21 October 2026 as one of Central and Eastern Europe's longest-running ethical-hacker and IT-security gatherings. The organiser's current programme outlines two main stages, seven two-hour workshops, an expo and a dedicated OT-security afternoon at the Lurdy Conference and Event Centre.

The value of the day is practical. Topics include AI systems as both targets and defensive tools, exposed cloud secrets, telecommunications threats, automotive CAN security, vulnerabilities in healthcare equipment and the protection of operational-technology networks.

A parallel programme needs planning

With two stages and registration-based workshops running in parallel, visitors should check the official timetable and workshop availability immediately before travelling. The organiser highlights speakers from more than ten countries alongside a strong Hungarian research presence.

AI appears on both sides of the security problem: autonomous agents and developer tools can widen an attack surface, while automated analysis can also support defenders. The event cannot replace a security audit, but its research and demonstrations may help organisations identify where deeper testing is needed.
