The KRAFT Beer Festival opens its gates on 10 September at Dürer Kert in Budapest. According to the organisers, the event, which runs until 13 September, will feature around 30 Hungarian and regional breweries, speciality retailers and roughly 300 different beers.
The festival's open-air music programme and entry are both free. Alongside the beers, the line-up includes ciders, cocktails, alcohol-free craft drinks, five food trucks and 18 music acts.
The event began ten years ago, in 2016, in Kőbánya. The organisers stress that the festival operates on a commercial basis, without state funding, a major investor or the backing of a large brewery.
From a business perspective, KRAFT is an interesting platform for independent drinks producers, street food brands, gastro-tech providers and on-site payment solutions. Free entry can create a wider visitor funnel while revenue is built on consumption and partner presence.
