ONE STRAND CITY, one of STRAND Festival's most distinctive community venues, is returning. From 19 to 22 August, organisers are building a standalone, imaginary town on Zamárdi's public beach, with Lil Frakk and Pumped Gabo serving as its "mayors."
The waterfront town will include an open-air cinema, a theatre, a cultural centre, a museum, a school, a hairdresser's, a record shop, vintage stores, restaurants and cafés. The day begins with morning yoga and pilates, and visitors can choose from more than a hundred literary, cultural and creative programmes throughout the day.
One of the venue's standout services is the Lake Balaton wedding terrace, where visitors can hold a festival wedding complete with a photographer, flower petals and a master of ceremonies. STRAND Beach Cinema will screen eight films, including Hungarian classics such as Moszkva tér, Csinibaba, A tanú and Macskafogó.
ONE STRAND CITY is not a simple side programme, but a standalone brand and service ecosystem. A sponsor can run its own shop, service, consultation hours, workshop or cultural programme on-site, so its presence feels less like advertising and integrates more naturally into visitors' everyday festival experience.
